In 2008, bored of the limited vintage selection Lou Lou could find in her home city, she set on a journey to bring together thousands of vintage pieces under one Sheffield roof for a pop up event.
Scouring the local area, Lou Lou found a wonderful mix of traders with no local selling platform and invited them to bring vintage clothing, collectables and crafts together for a day of shopping for like-minded vintage enthusiasts to enjoy.
It was a time of economic crisis and the idea of affordable fashion and a fun day out for a couple of quid created a buzz that soon spread all over the city.
The attendance on the day far exceeded her wildest expectations. People were already asking when the next fair was and there was no stopping her, Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair was born!
Now in it’s ninth year, Lou Lou’s has grown to become the biggest travelling fair in the United Kingdom. No town or city is left unturned as Lou Lou and her troupe of traders pitch up with a wealth of vintage clothing & collectables!
Winning the accolade of ‘Best Vintage Fair’ in the UK for three years running, Lou Lou’s are unstoppable and now visit more than 40 locations with over 100 events per year and the future looks set to get even bigger.
Adding more feathers to their hat, the Lou Lou’s team started holding two new events. The Vintage Weigh & Pay was the first, a concept event much like a pick ‘n’ mix where customers reap the savings normally reserved for vintage traders by buying their clothing by weight direct from the wholesaler.
Their biggest event yet, The Vintage Carnival started in 2016 and is a one day festival featuring shopping (of course!), beauty, bands, DJs and dancers, classic cars, food & drink and lots more! The first event met rave reviews and is now set to expand nationwide in the coming months and years so look out for your nearest event.
